Our intense Roadburn-set will be released October 3rd on cassette by Roadburn Records. The amazing artwork was done by the talented Loulou & Tummie.
It feels good to do this as we were very happy with the performance and the atmosphere at the Cul de Sac that night. Did you miss it or do you want to re-live the experience? No problem, as you can stream / pre-order the whole thing right away. Just click here or press play down below. Enjoy!
Super cool, The Needle Drop, one of our personal favorites, reviewed the new Krishna album!
Anthony thinks it’s “UFO JAZZ”
Skip to around 2:50 to see the review.
“An endless variation of a steady rhythm, a massive wave of saxophone sounds and curious mixture of electronic sounds”
“Met ‘Ascend To Nothing’ brengen Dead Neanderthals en Drvg Cvltvre onder de noemer Krishna van begin tot eind een fascinerende luistertrip: zwaar aangezet, uitdagend, geestverruimend en stemming verhogend”
“IT’S UFO JAZZ”
The Needle Drop
“the relentlessly massed power drone of Ascend to Nothing might also aspire to something more, an extroverted, aggregate minimalism that shuts off your brain to massage the black bile out of it”
“a massive psychedelic and hypnotic trip that you definitely should try out”
Merchants Of Air
“Een echte samenwerking, dit Krishna, dat een nieuw hoofdstuk toevoegt aan de al indrukwekkende catalogus van de Nijmegenaars”
Gonzo (circus) #135

Good news if you were hoping for something along the lines of our first albums. Exclusive Dead Neanderthals track ‘Slow Kitten‘ is exactly that and can be found on the Tartarus Records mixtape ‘Forever Out Of Control‘.
The reason this mixtape was actually put together is less cool. In the 2015 edition of the Noorderzon Festival in Groningen (NL), Harma Heikens’ exhibition of sculptures was shut-down by festival management after people felt offended by one of the pieces being displayed. The work,‘Toys in the Attic’ (used as the cover for the mixtape) cryptically addresses the tender social issue of domestic child molestation.
The sculpture soon caused a small disturbance, and even threats were made to set fire to the exhibition. Management closed down Harma’s show until further notice, and quite soon for the remainder of the festival after Harma spoke to the press, which festival management had forbid her from doing so.
It is because of this that Harma’s piece ‘Toys in the Attic’ is used as the cover for Tartarus’ 50th release. ‘Forever Out Of Control’ is a special mixtape containing Dutch and Belgian bands who are connected to Tartarus or just good friends of the label, support the artist and are against censorship.
Other great bands on this tape are Terzij de Horde, MNHM, Ggu:ll, Teethgrinder and many more.
